Filing Requirements for Democratic Candidates for the Virginia House of Delegates District 65 June 20, 2023 Primary

The Democratic Candidate for the November 7, 2023 General Election will be selected by primary on June 20, 2023. Primary candidates must submit their Petitions, Declaration of Candidacy and Primary Filing Fee Receipt to Thomas Kimbrell, Chair of the 65 th HoD Nominating Committee, between noon on March 20 and 4:59 PM on April 6. On March 20, 2023 Candidates may submit their petitions from 12:00 noon to 5:00PM at 418 Collingwood Drive, Falmouth, Virginia 22405. To arrange for delivering petitions and other required documents after March 20, contact the Chair Thomas Kimbrell by text (at 540-220-6941) and by email at (twkimbrell47@gmail.com). The Chair will also be available from 3:00 PM to 4:59 PM on April 6 at 418 Collingwood Drive. Contact the chair of the nominating committee, if you have any questions.

The Board of Supervisor Griffis-Widewater District Election

“Primary” is the nominating method for the Board of Supervisor Griffis-Widewater district election. Candidates for that election are required to SUBMIT/DROP-OFF their COMPLETE Candidate Filing Package, (i.e. Notarized Petition, Candidate Declaration, Filing Fee Payment Receipt), No Earlier Than: 12:00 PM on 20 March and No Later Than 5:00 PM on 6 April, to the Nominating Committee Chair, Mr. Keith Lockett, or designated Nominating Committee Chair representative, In accordance with the following SUBMISSION/DROP-OFF location recipient availability:

  • 20 March – 6 Apr: 20 Mar: 12:00 PM – 5:00PM,
  • 21 Mar – 6 Apr: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, at 240 Revell Road, Fredericksburg, VA.

Please call (540)-659-5135 in advance to confirm package recipient availability for desired submission/drop-off time.

Partial packages WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Receipts will be given a receipt for all complete packages submitted.

Senate District 27 and House District 64 elections

“Primary” is the nominating method for Senate District 27 and House District 64 elections. Candidates for those races are required to SUBMIT/DROP-OFF their COMPLETE Candidate Filing Package, (i.e. Notarized Petition, Candidate Declaration, Filing Fee Payment Receipt), (No Earlier Than: 12PM 20 March – No-Later Than 5PM 6 Apr), to the Nominating Committee Chair, (Mr. Clifford Heinzer), or designated Nominating Committee Chair representative, In accordance with the following SUBMISSION/DROP-OFF location recipient availability:

1. 20 March from 11:55 AM to 12:25 PM in the Lobby of the Stafford County Administrative Building (through the double doors facing the parking lot and flag poles, turn right into the waiting area).

2. 20 March – 4 April from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at 316 Ironside Cove, Stafford, VA. Please call (571) 242-5726 in advance for clearance through the Aquia Harbour Gate.

3. 3 April from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Central Rappahannock Regional Library, Fredericksburg Branch, 1201 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, VA.

4. 5 & 6 April from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at 240 Revel Road, Fredericksburg, VA. Please call (540) 659-5135 in advance to confirm package recipient availability for desired submission/drop-off time.
